How does the Staffordshire Resilience Forum partnership work?

Posted on: 06/02/2012

Every day in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, work goes on to prepare our communities for emergencies.

In order to ensure that this is done as effectively, efficiently and economically as possible, an extensive range of public, private and voluntary organisations work closely in partnership to plan, train and exercise.  This way of working is called the Staffordshire Resilience Forum partnership.  Sounds complicated?  Well it’s actually very simple and to help you understand what the main parts of the partnership are, the Civil Contingencies Unit has put together a page on the Staffordshire Prepared website to show you what it looks like.

Director of Civil Contingencies, Andy Marshall, outlined the importance of this new addition to the website: “Partnership working lies at the heart of resilience in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.    All areas of the UK work in slightly different ways to plan for emergencies so that local needs are met as flexibly as possible.  Through our simple structures, we are able to work in a way that delivers significant value to our communities whilst always ensuring that we are prepared for the unexpected.  I would therefore encourage anyone who wants to know ‘how the Staffordshire Resilience Forum partnership works’ to visit the simple overview provided on the Staffordshire Prepared website.”
