Staffordshire Prepared Generic Offsite Reservoir Plan Launched

The Staffordshire Prepared Generic Offsite Reservoir Plan was launched earlier this month, with the aim of giving Reservoir Owners and Emergency Responders a guide to actions they should take in the event of a potential or actual dam burst in the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent area.

 

Although the likelihood of a dam breaching is very low, the Ulley Dam showed signs of failing during the 2007 floods, and following the launch of this new Plan, Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent responders are better prepared for if a similar situation were to arise in our area.
