British Red Cross brought their new Command and Control Vehicle to the Civil Contingencies Unit (CCU) today, to raise awareness to Duty Officers within the Unit.

On the afternoon of Saturday 4 February 2012 Staffordshire saw moderate amounts of snow across most of the County, with totals exceeding 10cm in some places. Consequently, driving conditions became very difficult in many places, with many minor roads, and some main roads, becoming impassable to all but 4 wheel drive vehicles.

The Staffordshire Prepared Generic Offsite Reservoir Plan was launched earlier this month, with the aim of giving Reservoir Owners and Emergency Responders a guide to actions they should take in the event of a potential or actual dam burst in the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent area.

Staffordshire Resilience's third Information Sharing Forum at Keele University was today hailed as a great success by delegates attending from across Staffordshire. Held at the Ballroom, Keele Hall, representatives from Local Authorities, NHS Trusts, Emergency Services and Voluntary Sector heard the latest updates on a range of emergency preparedness subjects.
