The Pitt Review
It made 92 recommendations covering: flood risk management (knowing when and where it may flood; better planning and reducing the risk of flooding and its impact); emergency response; maintaining power and water supplies and protecting essential services; better advice and helping people to protect their families and homes; and recovery.
Today, 17 December 2008, the Government has published its response to the Pitt Review. To view the Government Review click here.
Director of Civil Contingencies, Andy Marshall commented: "The Staffordshire Resilience Forum (SRF) has been actively engaged in the Pitt Review process, and welcomes its publication.
The Civil Contingencies Unit (CCU) continues to work on the second draft of the Staffordshire Emergency Flood Plan (SEFP), and will now consider implementing any new recommendations from the final report of the Pitt Review in this document. Formal consultation of the draft SEFP will commence in August 2008".
The final Pitt Review was published on 25 June 2008.
